My First Franken!

Hey everyone! I was planning on posting swatches from the OPI Oz Collection today, but half-way through the swatching process my polish making supplies arrived! It's somewhat misleading to say this is a "franken" since generally that term implies mixing existing polishes together. I made this one completely from scratch using polish suspension base and pigment. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but I think it's a good start!
This franken has no name (yet), but it is a periwinkle leaning lilac holo. The holo is subtle, but it is definitely there. And like most holographic polishes, the holo effect was difficult to capture! I'll try to do some nail art with this tomorrow and hopefully get some better pictures in the sunlight. The consistency was good. I used three coats here, but I could have easily gotten away with two.

What do you guys think of this first attempt? For those interested, I got my supplies at TKB Trading. You can view another franken I made here. Thanks for reading!

  2. What a beautiful colour! I haven't delved into the world of frankening yet. For some reason, I'm scared!

    1. Thanks Jayne! I was somewhat scared as well, but it was surprisingly easy to do. A bit time consuming, though.
